First Half of 2006 Sets Record High Average Temperature in the United States
Tuesday July 18, 2006
The first half of 2006 saw the highest average temperatures ever recorded in the U.S. for January through June, at least since the government started keeping records in 1895, and it was among the warmest first halves globally. Meanwhile, the second half of the year is starting out with triple-digit temperatures in many parts of the U.S. and elsewhere. Get the details and learn more about the report from the National Climatic Data Center. Photo courtesy of Nicholas Raymond
