Poll: Americans Bash Bush on Environment

Friday August 4, 2006
More Americans than ever are upset about the way President Bush is handling the environment and what they see as his failure to seriously address global warming, according to a Los Angeles Times/Bloomberg poll released today. The poll also shows that the rising price of gasoline, electricity and other types of energy have motivated many Americans to conserve energy or reduce household spending to help offset those costs. What's surprising is that their concerns about the environment and high energy costs have not led many Americans to support higher fuel-economy standards or mandatory caps on greenhouse gas emissions. Go figure.
