9/11 Terrorist Attack Left Thousands of Rescue Workers with Chronic Health Problems, Study Confirms
Monday September 11, 2006
The terrorist attack on the twin towers of the World Trade Center on 9/11/01 left thousands of rescue and recovery workers with persistent health problems, according to the largest study ever conducted of 9/11 workers. Doctors at Mount Sinai Medical Center say the study confirms the link between caustic dust and toxic pollutants at ground zero and a wide range of respiratory illnesses that, in many cases, are becoming chronic and may never improve.
