Global warming will lead to droughts, more frequent and severe hurricanes and storms, and rising sea levels that are predicted to destabilize many nations and to create as many as 50 million environmental refugees by 2010. People left homeless or plunged into poverty, hunger and disease by rising temperatures and other effects of global warming are likely to be susceptible to extremist ideologies.
