Progress is Slow on Reducing, Reusing and Recycling Fast Food Waste

Wednesday February 27, 2008
Along with burgers, tacos and french fries, fast food restaurants serve up a mountain of paper, plastic and Styrofoam waste every day. Fast food waste is a growing problem, as fast food chains expand and open new restaurants around the world. Some fast food companies have taken voluntary steps to reduce, reuse or recycle their waste, but is that enough? Do we need stronger regulations to govern fast food waste?

Based on the progress that what made by
the USA for the last 3 decades on our use of gasoline, I would say industry and the people will do little unless it

(2) Jessica Benner says:

Fast food is dangerous to your health in the first place so choosing to stay away from the food itself will prevent the waste. If there were a monetary incentive to reducing or recycling more would be done. Also making people carry all the trash they throw out eachday with them through the day would make an impact.
