As crazy as it may seem, some people think global warming is a hoax perpetrated by environmentalists who want to scare people into sending donations, or liberals who want to promote big government and more regulation. If you've ever encountered one of these hardcore skeptics and have found yourself lost for cogent arguments, be sure to read this article.

We have had global warming since the ice age. If not then a lot of the U.S.A. would still be covered by a glacier. So I doubt we have much control over it. Lets just keep our air and water as clean as we can.

Larry West’s arguments are absurd. He cites governmentally sponsored entities’ “conclusions” as unbiased fact. That’s like asking an SS officer if he’s been torturing anyone. Agreed there is global warming by the sun and magma coming out of the ocean bottom and man has nothing to do with it. Because of the increase in temperature more co2 is being produced by the foress and oceans so when all the people say the co2 increase leads to global warming they are wrong. It contains roughly (by molar content/volume) 78% nitrogen, (normally inert except upon electrolysis by lightning[1] and in certain biochemical processes of nitrogen fixation), 20.95% oxygen, 0.93% argon, 0.04% carbon dioxide, and trace amounts of other gases, in addition about 1% water vapor.
Do you really think tha man’s small contrbutation to .04% co2 is making one bit of difference, when considering that 94% of all greenhouse gasses is water. You want to stop vaporation? Duh
No one can deny that the planet experiences natural, cyclic climate changes. No one can deny that CO2 traps heat out of proportion to its low concentration in the atmosphere. BUT: CO2 exerts 90% of its heat trapping by its first 30ppm, virtually all the remanng 10% is trapped by the next 270ppm, and no additional heat is trapped at all by levels above 450ppm. GW, as envisioned by the partailly educated IS a hoax.
We need to conserve fossil fuel because our society will change so drastically when it runs out, not because of its impact on GW.

Lets pretend for a moment that no one really knows the conclusive answer to this problem. Maybe global warming is caused by humans or maybe it isn’t or maybe its both. If you believe that global warming is caused by nature without the aid of mankind, fine; thats up to you and I would not argue that there’s a lack of evidence to support that. However, it should not be used as an excuse to run the environment into the ground for short term gains. Global warming aside, poor air quality, poor water quality, and severe loss of the natural habitat that we all enjoy is REAL. So, both sides need to quit using this issue as a distraction and start living like you give a damn, global warming or not.
The only solid logic for caring about the environment when speaking to skeptics is the bottom line. Saving the earth means saving money. Use CFLs save money, drive a hybrid save money, use solar save money,reduce water waste save money, recycle save money. I have given up on any other approach this one works the best.

There are plenty of biological and chemical systems that are clearly susceptible to major shift and reaction by the addition of relatively slight amounts of key materials. Ice core studies show that CO2 concentrations are already higher than they have been in over 600,000 years – that’s many ice age cycles. The earth will soon be warmer than it ever has been since homo sapiens appeared.
Don’t worry too much Larry, the global warming-as-hoax flat-earthers come out of the woodwork with articles like yours. But most people accept the overwhelming evidence, even if they aren’t sure how to react to it yet. That’s where we should put most of our energy.
Your poison analogy does not fit the this example very well. Better to compare biological buffering systems: Nature has seen to it that the norm usually fits a buffer whose mid-point coincides to that norm, eg- bicabonate buffering blood, whose average pH is about 7.4, the same as the pK of bicab. This means fairly wide swings about that norm will swing back to the norm.

What really gets me about this proposition is the notion that the people who are perpetrating this lie are doing EXACTLY what they claim to be against. There are scientists at EPA, NASA and other institutions that have lost their jobs and had people with no scientific background edit their finding for no reason other than politics.
Sure there may be some money for research into climate change. There should be a lot more for something so important. But there are BILLIONS from special interests that want you to ignore it. Look at the contributers to these so called “skeptics”.

Being of average or above intelligence I decided to research global warming a while back. The strangest thing – normal science does not apply to the Global Warming Theory. Facts don’t matter, nor does evidence. Half truths, huge amounts of conjecuture, and numerous scare tactics line the trail of the global warming experts. Then hidding around every corner is a special interest group or politician.
The thing I find amazing is that suddenly “scientists have reached a concensus”? Are you kidding me?? (1)There is no concensus in scientific theory or investigation. It’s either a fact and can be proved and duplicated or it’s not, end of story. Strange that the most common place to find concensus is in politics… (2)It’s not true. There are thousands upon thousands of scientists that oppose global warming being “preached” as fact. The science is not behind the global warming theory, and a theory is …wait for it… an unproven hypothosis.. a guess.

I guess being over 60 means that all those GLOBAL warming and cooling I went through was a figment of my mind. I remember the heat of fall in southern CA, I remember the snow and ice of summer also. Guess I was just mixed up,I thought that MOTHER NATURE was in charge not GOD. I didn’t know men were so powerful that they could affect the climate!
I am beginning to believe these advancers of the global warming hoax should be indicted and tried on charges of creating a false public mass hysteria. Enough of these kooks already !! Global Warming is a hoax. The other planets are warming up right along with Earth, and I highly doubt that there are SUVs driving around Mars and Jupiter. The American Physical Society, an organization representing nearly 50,000 physicists, has reversed its stance on climate change and is now proclaiming that many of its members disbelieve in human-induced global warming. The APS is also sponsoring public debate on the validity of global warming science. So why the hoax? Because the elites, otherwise known as the Illuminati, needed to give the people of the earth a reason to come together under one cause. This cause will usher in a new world government and a one world religion. The green movement is nothing but Gaia worship. Look up the facts. Look up the connection the UN has to Theosophy. Look up the fact that our world leaders, George Bush included, is a member of the Bohemian Club and worship the deity Molech. Our government is more corrupt than anyone can imagine, and the Global Warming hoax is just one more facet of control they have over us.

Im pretty sure all you guys have done your research & im no expert but if I remember correctly from my childhood years, the gets closer to the sun every year and I would expect our temperature to rise if that is happening. eventually the sun will turn into a red giant and consume its closest planet so if you guys think its hot now imagine when that phenomena takes place how hot it will be. I could be wrong but I do believe that is the reason we are looking for water on other planets because once the suns effect takes place this planet will become a molten mass. The hype about global warming could be true but lets not forget that slowly but surely the suns gravity pulls the earth closer to it making earth a living hell literally.

Does anyone remember Y2K? The mass hysteria and panic when all the “experts” cried the sky was falling?! The “experts” perpetrated by the liberal media tried to scare the heck out of us for ratings, votes, and just pure greed. What happened on Y2K? Nothing. Think of all the people that built shelters and stowed water and other supplies for nothing. This is a very similar situation. Here is the analogy that I like to use-imagine a timeline representing time going all the way back to the dinosaur age. Stretch that line out the length of a football field. Okay, now to see the amount of time that we have been able to ACCURATELY sample the weather is as thick as a sheet of paper. With that tiny amount of time for observation, can we accurately predict the next ten to 100 years or even think that we know conclusively the weather over the last million years or so?
Beware. Now that Obama is in, he and his Kool Aid drinking advisors are going to be using the hoax to set government policy and global policies for that matter. The consequences are frightening, including regulations regarding CO2 gas. Last time I checked that was a natural metabolic product. What is next? The world power grab is on.

Yes, this notion of doom is yet another hoax. I don’t know the motivation behind the leader Al Gore. Could it be that he is planning for more wealth ? I think that we all know that most politicians have no honor, so maybe Gore knows it is a hoax. Maybe ? I really can’t say. What is really disturbing is that the believers don’t realize that it is a hoax and are sicere in their fears and terror of the future. In looking at the past 100 years, the surface temp. of the earth was warmest in 1925 and 1934 with cooling in between. The surface temp. in 1902 matches that of 1991 and 2002. When looking at the historical graph, it is evident that the surface temp. rises and falls regularly and for no apparent reason. The graph indicates that, more than likely, a cooling period is ahead. In a longer history of heating and cooling we are in a cooling period. This long history is very long term periods, sometimes thousands of years. Many of these periods are recorded. As these extended cooling period evolve, the world population moves toward the equator and ,of course, they migrate away from the equator as conditions again change. The notion that auto emmisions could possibly effect global temperatures is absurd. The co2 created by man made forces is dwarfed by the gasses that are created by the movement of the oceans. Think about it, the oceans cover 75% of the earth. It is just too bad that people jump on the global warming hoax bus without doing any research. The dumbing of America is not a hoax. Just look around the next time you go out into this public.
By now I’m sure you’ve been informed of all the hypocrisy associated with Al Gore’s Global Warming crusade and movie. How “Green Al” and his Tennessee mansion use 20 times the energy of the average citizen gobbling up most of the available solar energy in his area. You probably heard that he was nailed for speeding in Oregon, wasting gas by driving 15 mph over the speed limit. Carbon offsets are simply money that you spend, or donate to an investment company that in turn invests those funds in green energy programs. The idea is that helping to advance eco-friendly energy sources makes up for the damage that a person’s normal energy use does & then makes everything even. This all sounds good & noble until to dig a little deeper & find that the investment group that Gore buys his carbon offsets from, Generation Investment Management http://www.generationim.com, is owned by: AL GORE! So he pays himself, interesting. And why do you think he might be touring the country promoting his movie, scaring people about global warming and convincing them to invest in carbon credits? Because he makes money from them! There are billions of dollars to be made off this global warming scam & “Green Al” has positioned himself to be one of the front runners.
Gore’s credibility is in serious peril as he obviously does not believe in the ideas he is preaching, if he did he would be the first to reduce his energy wasting practices & lead by example. If this were something he believed in you would think his home would be equipped with energy wise systems such as wastewater purification & recycling, geothermal heating & cooling and a rainwater collection system (like George Bush’s Crawford ranch). Gore’s actions speak louder than his words & I’m going to follow his lead. When he takes global warming seriously then I will do the same.

Despite what Al Gore may say there is no “consensus” on climate change as there are thousands of scientists with PhD’s that do not agree with him. In fact over 19,000 scientists have signed a petition that in part states:
“There is no convincing scientific evidence that human release of carbon dioxide, methane, or other greenhouse gasses is causing or will, in the foreseeable future, cause catastrophic heating of the Earth’s atmosphere and disruption of the Earth’s climate.”
Al Gore’s video was pretty terrible, but I think leonardo dicaprio’s 11th hour was pretty impressive. It made me stop and think a little bit about what I can do to help with the environment. Overpopulation is contributing to global warming. If you think about it, over 6 billion people in the world breath out CO2 every day, and if you combine that with the spraying of pesticides and the burning of fossil fuels, its bound to affect the atmosphere in some way. Also, deforestation is destroying all our trees that actually clean up our air. So many chemicals are causing mutations in animals around the world, and these chemicals are starting to get into our food and drinking water. Some baluga whales are classified as toxic waste because they contain so many chemicals. If anything we need to clean up our usages of these chemicals.

It is difficult to forcast weather out 7 days, let alone predict the impact af a mere 100 years of increased CO2. 100 years is barely a second in the grand scheme. Just because the Goreacle does a pretty documentary on the normal evolution of the planet, doesn’t make it so.
There many scientists that disagree with the theory, and even some that think more CO2 is a good thing. For a hoax to be formed you need a purpose, you need to have money or power at the end of it. Who has the power to perpetuate this?
Companies? They stand to lose money and production from this
Governments? They created a massive propaganda machine to say it wasn’t real. They did all they could to prevent change
Environmentalists? Your joking right? They never had any money or power, their like an independant party in an election
Scientists all around the world? What would they gain from lying?
-First, Myrdek, recognize that the UN has become an organization bent on improving the lot of the Third World. By proclaiming a false problem of GW, they hope to impose a burden on Industrialized nations by restricting their use of energy. This will serve to divert production, and thus, wealth to the poor nations.
-Al Gore and also GE (owner of NBC, a propaganda unit of the Liberal cause in the US and instrumental in getting Obama elected) own orgainzations poised to earn billions of dollars in the carbon credit trade once laws are passed in the US mandating same.
-Scientists earn their living, so to speak, by obtaining research grant money. Competition is fierce for those funds, and proving that there is no problem assures loss of funding. The incentive is to go along with the fraud.
-Examine the data: we’ve been cooling for the past 11 years.

2- Of course, but those people have very little power compared to republicans. I don’t want to get in a political debate since I don’t live in the U.S and its obvious for every other country in the world that its republicans that own your medias. The recent Obama election was only because Bush went a bit too far. Republicans are going to take control in a few years again when Obama fails to fix things and then they’ll ruin the country even more.
3- Scientists would still get grants for other research even without this. How many oil/gas companies do you think are funding research trying to prove that global warming is not manmade right now? Their the ones with the most money. Check the link I provided at the bottom for a better rebutal.

“Is global warming a hoax?” Why yes, it is. Global temperatures have remained constant lately and probably will remain constant. Hardcore believers? Take this. Global warming is a natural cycle. It has gone through a cycle for thousands of years, even before humans were around to cause it. I must say that environmentalists are a bigger threat to mankind than global warming.
