I interpreted this entirely differently:”But to create more of these clean energy jobs, we need more production, more efficiency, more incentives. …It means making tough decisions about opening new offshore areas for oil and gas development.”
I interpreted this to mean that although Americans are in FAVOR of offshore drilling, the administration will need to stand strong and make tough decisions to PREVENT the drilling, given that this was in the context of “clean energy”. Is that possible???
I wish that were true. However it is obvious that offshore drilling will be slipped into the bill to make some Republicans happy. That drilling will be in the Arctic Refuge, not only in the Gulf of Mexico. The Sierra Club and other envoironmental agencies need to stand up strong against this or it will be too late, if it isn’t already. Most Native Alaskans, 77%, are actually in favor of it.
Well what he said was all well and good but it didnt quite work out as planned.
