(1) Amy Zalman says:

It is hard to dispute global warming’s first place, and yet I’d rather water shortages in first place following a year in which regional peace in the Middle East seemed even more elusive. The water crisis in the Western Levant shapes and reflects political crisis, and beginning to solve disputes that are in large part over water distribution might go a long way toward resolving a political, as well as environmental, crisis.
